Business Start Workshop in Brora: 23/24 January 2012

We have arranged a 2-Day Business Start Workshop to be held on the 23/24 January 2012 at the Brora Learning Centre.

This is great workshop for those starting (or have recently started) a business or social enterprise.

Course Description

Join our two day workshop where you will learn how to develop your ideas into a practical and effective plan to launch your business.

Key elements include: Getting the marketing right for your business; Developing a realistic, working business plan; Deciding what finance you need and learning how to use financial information.

Merry Christmas from Business Gateway!!!


The Business Gateway office in Bonar Bridge will be closed for the festive break from close of play on the 23rd December 2011 and will re-open, full of of New Year optimism, on the 4th January 2012.

The "Wild Game Company" on TV

 Andy Waugh, from Ardgay, and his Wild Game Company will be featured on "Nigel Slater's Simple Christmas(Link); filmed at Balloan Castle, Easter Ross.

The programme is broadcast in Scotland at 7.00pm (7.30pm elsewhere) on BBC1 on Wednesday 21st December 2011.

Create - Make it Happen


I had a great time yesterday, meeting some of the entrepreneurs involved with the Create Programme including some of the finalists from this year's Business Ideas Competition. Guest Speakers included local entrepreneurs - and representatives from Highland Venture Capital,  ICASS, Johnson & Carmichael, HISEZ, Harper MacLeod (and yours truly).

Congratulations to Carol Langston and her team for organising another fantastic event.
